Fourth Sunday of Advent Staff Reflections
LOVE
I have to plagiarize Eleanor Farjeon’s lyrics from “People Look East.” “Make your house fair as you are able. Love, the Guest, is on the way.” Our God keeps His promises! - Margie Flatley-Carpenter
Love asks us to trust another with our vulnerability. It exposes where we are weak as well as where we are strong. We see this so beautifully at Christmas as Jesus presents himself in love to the world not as a strong man, but a helpless baby. – Gail Chaudrue
Love of God, my family, and friends seem especially poignant in this challenging year and I am reminded daily of how much God loves us all. I once read this of Advent : “Hope becomes peace. Peace becomes joy. Joy becomes love. Love becomes Christ.” I hope everyone has a blessed and love-filled season. – Heather Hall
Love is something we all long for and desire but most times have a hard time finding it. I think about this all the time in my job. Then I remember that Jesus left heaven to come down to earth, to become human and in the form of a baby because he loves us. It makes me think of the lyrics to the song “Amazing Love”. It says, “What kind of love is this, that you, my King would die for me.” Jesus loves us no matter what! So much so that he came down in the form of a baby and grew up in our midst to a man among us! He left heaven for us and His Amazing Love for us! – Father Don Bender
