Special Supply Collection for Community Cares - Our Homeless Resource Center
Saint Vincent de Paul will be collecting underwear, socks and sports bras for the homeless, the weekend of July 23rd & 24th, before all Masses. New items, in all sizes, are needed for men, women and children.
Please place your purchased items in the labeled laundry baskets in the Narthexes, of all churches. You may also drop items off at the Parish Office, on July 26 & 27, from 8:00 am - 3:30. Financial donations can be made on the parish website under the Saint Vincent de Paul (Community CARES Collection) online giving option, write a check, payable to Saint Vincent de Paul or put cash in an envelope and drop it in the collection basket on the weekend. Please be sure to put SVdP on the envelope, as well as Community CARES Collection.
If you have any questions, please contact Carol Culbertson at mcculbertson@comcast.net or 717-448-1501.
Thank you for being the face of Christ to others. Your donation will create dignity, and promote good hygiene, for those in need in our community.
The Missionary Cooperative Collection
THE MISSIONARY COOPERATIVE COLLECTION
This weekend, please welcome Father Charles, a missionary from the Archdiocese of Kumasi, Ghana, West Africa, to our parish. Hear about their essential mission work for the Church, their stories, their challenges, and their successes. Learn about the differences they are making to the people they serve.
Please pray for the work of this missionary group and provide as you are able. The weekend is sponsored by the diocesan office of Pontifical Mission Societies. The Societies support the Church in mission dioceses worldwide until they become self-sufficient.
A second collection for The Missionary Cooperative will take place this weekend 7/16 & 7/17 and also next week 7/23 & 7/24. Online contributions to this mission may be made by clicking the button below or at www.hbgdiocese.org/missions.
Conversing With Christ
Conversing with Christ: Lord, too often I have gone about doing your work, with the expectation of a temporal reward. Help me to turn away from the need for praise, knowing that you are the one worthy of our praise and thanksgiving. Through the intercession of St. John the Baptist, help me to live simply, and by my hospitality and witness of faith and humility, lead others to your peace.

SHRINE CHURCH – BE CAREFUL WHEN ATTENDING MASS - as the Shrine Narthex Improvement Project has begun in the Shrine Church, we have decided to keep regularly scheduled masses in place for parish attendance as long as it is safe and feasible to do. When entering and exiting through the narthex, please be mindful of the uneven subflooring, deterioration of the sidewalls and “damp” smelling floorboards. We have been able to remove the carpeting, padding, a few layers of old linoleum, black felt and the quarter round. Next will be the subflooring. Additionally, the replacement of the broken concrete is also taking place outside so be mindful of the barricades.
Additional Update - the replacement furnace has been ordered and upgraded light bulbs are being installed in the main sanctuary. God should be brighter than ever for all! Thank you for the contributions that have been received in order to assist in addressing and tackling these items.
The Deacon Gerard J. Kole Library and Saint John Neumann Hall –Mini-splits for heating/cooling are being added. Hopefully and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the units will be completely installed by the beginning of next week with business back to normal in those rooms/space. Again, thanks for your patience!
